Vacation
It's amazing how fast some weeks seem to go by. We spent most of this week at lake Erie, a trip that we take once a year. Brady seems to have a real love for the beach, I guess he takes after his mommy. I have always felt an unexplainable peace when I'm sitting on the warm sand, listening to the waves as they gently hit the shore. We took a few morning trips but I think our favorite trip was to Vermilion. In May the city of Vermilion built a small train depot that sits about 30 feet away from the train tracks. This spot was perfect for viewing trains and while we were there we managed to see 4 trains. The smile on Brady's face was absolutely priceless, I have to admit that I even thought it was pretty neat. I honestly think he would have sat there all day long waiting for trains to come by. For lunch we ate at a Quaker Steak and Lube that sat right on the water. It was really nice to sit and eat lunch and watch the boats come back and forth. Brady even asked to go back the next day!

So bad...
I'm so bad at keeping this blog it's pathetic. I've never been one to write so I'm not sure what made me think I would keep up with a blog. I honestly don't even remember keeping a diary as a little girl.
Well 6 months has past since my last post. YIKES! We have been keeping busy and enjoying the summer. I have a hard time coping with the fact that it is mid-July already. Brady and I visited Jo-Ann Fabrics today and were greeted as we walked through the door to aisles of dorm room decor and are you ready for this?.... Harvest decor as well. This however made Brady very happy. For some reason he has always had a thing for scarecrows. I'm not sure where this obsession came from, as I would think most kids might be a little uneasy of a face on a stick. We escaped the store with just a some crochet hooks and a pack of sweet-tarts I have a feeling though that one really cute scarecrow will make it home with us in the next month or two though.

Welcome 2011
Well it's the last day of 2010 and overall it's been a nice year. Hanging out on Facebook today, I started to notice the new years resolutions pop up on status updates. I thought back to the ones that I made last year; I wouldn't call them a success but not a complete fail either. I have been thinking about any resolutions I might want to make this year and I have come up with a few. So here is to 2011!!! May you all have a great year!!!
Christmas was here and gone.
All the presents that took hours to wrap and placed under the tree, were tore open in record time. A strategic plan to make sure we visited as much family as possilbe, was tiring but could never be denied. The decorations that filled the house are now carefully boxed away. A holiday that seems like it takes months to prepare for, gone with just a blink of my eye.

The Polar Express
Last Sunday we enjoyed a family night that I will remember for a long time. We took Brady on the Polar Express. This was not only his first time to the North Pole but his first time on a train. He absolutely loved it! From the hot cocoa and cookies, pajama parade to the Reindeer Pokie. He is already talking about the next time!

The Dog Days of Summer
Yes, it August and the heat and humidity this week has been crazy. I don't mind it all and actually welcome the dog days of summer, as not to soon we will be braving the cold air and yes even snow. We are still keeping ourselves busy. We spent a few days up a lake Erie. We took Brady on his first trip to Put-in-bay Island, which also included his first boat ride. He said he loved the ferry ride and the golf cart that we drove around the island. We spent the entire next day on the beach. I love going to the beach just as the sun is setting, and have been able to capture some great photos. We spent last Wednesday at the state fair and this past Wednesday at the county fair. We filled up on fair fries, dippin dots and funnel cakes and Brady rode his share of rides. I swear this kid has no fear when it comes to rides. I have included one of my favorite pictures of Brady at the beach.

Catching up
Okay, where does the time go? I am sitting here relaxing while the boys are out in the pool and I can't believe it is almost the middle of July. I can't believe how fast time is just flying by. We are keeping busy and trying to make the most of summer. We have had some awesome weather and just recently had a week of 90 degrees and sun, which made for some great pool time. I LOVE IT!!! Our little tomato plant has 10 green tomatos on it and Brady and I are very eagerly awaiting for them to turn that ripe red color. This past Saturday we took some time out and headed to lake Erie. It is so fun to see how Brady enjoys the beach differently each year. Last year he liked the water but preferred to spend his time digging where the water meets the sand. This year he still enjoys the cool wet sand but has a new love for the water. The waves were gentle and just under a foot tall. The smile on his face as he braved the waves and played in the sand was absolutely priceless. We look forward to spending more time up there soon!
